ABOUT KIM
Kim Anderson Stone is a newly published author from Marianna, Florida. A graduate of Seminole County High School in Donalsonville, Georgia, Mrs. Stone is an accomplished and award-winning professional wedding photographer. She has made her living creating memories for others and now feels that it is time to create memories for her children and grandchildren.
Coming from a long line of storytellers, Mrs. Stone spent many hours entertaining her children by making up stories about “The Cowboy Family” to tell them as they traveled the United States as a rodeo family. She would weave tales of adventure and mischief, often incorporating a little bit of truth into the tales. After her children grew up, the stories lay dormant until Mrs. Stone had grandchildren. One evening, her young grandson asked for a bedtime story, and the Cowboy Family stories were dusted off and retold, much to the joy of her grandson (and her other eight grandchildren as well).
As Mrs. Stone wrote The Cowboy Ranch Series, she focused on helping children with transfer dyslexia, a form of dyslexia which causes difficulty reading, retaining, and then writing out the facts. Children with transfer dyslexia must read books that are thought provoking, using both whole language and phonetic skills, so that they want to stop and discuss the storyline; thereby retaining more of the details.
As her photography career is slowing down by choice, Mrs. Stone is enjoying visiting schools to promote reading. She and her husband, Matt, enjoy a quiet home life in Marianna with their dogs. She adores spending time with her children and their growing families. Her rambunctious grandkids serve as the main inspiration for her stories at the Cowboy Ranch.
